Is chicken better in the oven or stovetop?
Boneless, skinless chicken breast is delicious on the stovetop. You can watch the chicken more closely to make sure they don’t get dried out and preserve the flavor and texture. Bone-in chicken (with or without skin) is great in the oven because the bones and skin keep the chicken from drying out.
How do you keep chicken from drying out in a pan?
I recommend using a thinner chicken breast or cutlet. This way your chicken spends less time in the pan and it will be less likely to dry out. If you do not have thin chicken breast, you can place chicken in between parchment paper and pound them to about 1/4-1/2 inch thickness.
If you like, use a meat thermometer and look for an internal temperature of 165°.
Do you use oil when you cook chicken breast in a skillet?
Yes. Using medium-high heat, get your pan hot. Once your pan is hot, drizzle oil or butter to cook your chicken breast. Olive oil, avocado oil, vegetable oil…..the choice is yours.
