BBQ Chicken is great in the middle of a busy week, but it’s also one of those proteins you can prep ahead to save you time! If you need a recipe, try my crockpot BBQ chicken recipe. It’s just 3 ingredients! Or pick up a rotisserie chicken and add your favorite BBQ sauce.

How to Store BBQ Chicken Leftovers

Leftovers save and reheat well, and can make the start of another delicious dish.

To save leftovers, separate into meal sized portions and then place in an airtight container and store:

  • in the refrigerator for 3-4 days
  • in the freezer up to a month

Crockpot BBQ Chicken for Meal Prep

This delicious Crockpot BBQ Chicken recipe is made with only 3 ingredients! There are so many meal prep and leftover options, such as on sandwiches, in casseroles, on top of a salad, and more.

Cook Time: 2 hours hrs 30 minutes mins
Total Time: 2 hours hrs 35 minutes mins

Ingredients 

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, or chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning, (1 packet)
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce, (I used Sweet Baby Ray's)

Instructions 

  • Lay the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Cover chicken with ranch seasoning on both sides. Pour the BBQ sauce over the top of the chicken to cover.
  • Cover crockpot and cook on high for 2.5-3 hours or low for 3.5-4 hours.
    *Time may vary depending on the size of your slow cooker and the thickness of the chicken breast.
  • Once the chicken is cooked through, use forks to shred the chicken, then stir it into the BBQ sauce mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!
