Recipe Step by Step
I am going to highlight a few key steps in the recipe here, but make sure to jump down to the recipe card for comprehensive instructions on how to make this Rice Dish with French Onion Soup.

Add the rice to the bottom of a baking dish.

Top with beef broth and French onion soup. Mix to combine.

Place pats of butter evenly over the top of the mixture.

Cover with foil, then bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes. Stir and serve!
Recipe Tips
- Cover with foil for 30 minutes – Covering the baking dish with foil for the first half of the cooking time traps in the moisture. The moisture is what helps the rice cook to its ideal tenderness.
- Make more! – Serving a larger crowd? You can easily double this recipe simply by making it in a 9×13 baking dish instead of an 8×8 baking dish.
