Skip the restaurant and make Asian Zing Wings at home! These sweet and spicy wings are so simple to make, and when you prep them yourself, it’s easy to customize the heat level. This Asian Zing Wings recipe is one of our very favorites!
With their sticky-sweet-spicy sauce, Asian Zing Wings are so addicting. You might be able to walk into a restaurant and buy Asian Zing Buffalo Wild Wings there, but I love making them at home. They really are SO easy to make.
All you have to do is place fresh or frozen wings in your slow cooker, toss them with seasonings, then cook them until perfectly tender. Then, it’s time to toss the wings in a generous amount of homemade Asian Zing Wing sauce and bake them briefly, just until they’re crispy on the outside and fall-apart tender inside.
I love to brush them with more sauce when they’re fresh out of the oven, then serve them piping hot with a cool dipping sauce like this buttermilk ranch. They’re gone in minutes!
Why I LOVE this recipe!
- Customizable – Make these Asian Zing Wings less spicy–and therefore more family friendly–by reducing the Sriracha. Or, if you’re hosting heat-lovers, go the other way and load up on the Sriracha sauce!
- Very little active prep time – All you need are 5 minutes hands-on time to make these wings.
- SO TASTY! – Seriously, the sticky sauce is sweet, it’s tangy, it’s spicy, and it’s SO good on the tender, fall-off-the-bone wings. The combo is incredible! You’re going to love knowing how to make Asian Zing Wings.
What are Asian Zing Wings?

While I have no inside knowledge of the Buffalo Wild Wings recipe, this is what we have come up with to get the same amazing sticky, sweet flavor on wings at home!

Recipe Variations
If you love this recipe as much as we do and want some quick ways to change it up for variety, these little tips will do the trick!
- Less-Spicy Asian Zing Wings– Increase the ketchup and reduce the Sriracha for milder wings with less heat.
- Extra Spicy Asian Zing Wings– To kick your Asian Zing Wing sauce up a few notches in the heat department, reduce the ketchup and use more Sriracha.
- Gluten-Free Asian Zing Wings– Swap in Tamari for the soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
- Asian Zing Boneless Wings– To make a boneless version of these wings, use chicken breast instead! Simply cut three boneless, skinless chicken breasts into 1/2-inch strips and use those in place of the wings.
Recipe Step by Step
I am going to highlight a few key steps in the recipe here, but make sure to jump down to the recipe card for comprehensive instructions on how to make Asian Zing Wings.
Add the chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to a small bowl and mix it together.
Add the chicken wings to your Crock Pot and sprinkle the seasoning mix over the top. Toss to coat the wings with seasoning.
Cover and cook until the chicken is completely cooked through and tender.
Transfer the wings to a bowl, removing as much liquid as possible. Pour the sauce over the top and toss to coat the wings.
Place the wings on a baking sheet and brush with more sauce.
Bake until crisp and bubbly, brush with the remaining sauce, and serve.
Recipe Tips
- Make sure the wings are dry before adding sauce – The sauce will stick better to drier wings, so I recommend using a slotted spoon to transfer the wings to the bowl.
- Don’t overcook – If you cook your wings for longer in the Crock Pot, they’ll become too delicate to handle and will fall apart when saucing them.
- Keep the wings warm in your slow cooker – Discard the liquid from your Crockpot, then clean and dry it. Add the finished wings back into the Crock Pot and set to warm. They’ll stay hot for whenever people are ready to eat!
