I love chicken wing recipes. And I specifically love all of the fun and delicious ways you can prepare them!

These garlic parmesan chicken wings involve oven-baking, but feel free to check out my Slow Cooker Garlic Parmesan Wings for an alternative cooking method!

Why I LOVE this recipe!

  • Just a few ingredients – A 4 ingredient chicken wing sauce that tastes delicious too? Heck yes!
  • Restaurant-quality – The finished chicken wings really do taste like you got them at your favorite wing stop!
  • Versatile – This sauce doesn’t just have to be used for chicken! Drizzle it on veggies, pour it over pasta, mix it into mashed potatoes…there are so many uses.

Recipe Notes

This Buffalo Wild Wings garlic parmesan sauce recipe is as simple as promised! Just 4 ingredient for and 5 minutes for a flavor loaded sauce.

In this section I am going to go through a few tips and tricks I use for how to make garlic parmesan wing sauce to get the absolute best and most delicious results.

Make sure to scroll to the bottom for the FULL recipe card.

Ingredients + Substitutions

above image of garlic parm wing sauce ingredients on the counter.
  • Butter – I like to use salted butter for some added flavor. If you only have unsalted butter, you may want to add in some salt yourself.
  • Parmesan Cheese – Freshly grated parmesan has delicious flavor, but pre-shredded will work too.
  • Parsley – A sprinkle of parsley adds the perfect layer of freshness to the sauce.
  • Garlic – I recommend freshly minced garlic for the best flavor. It is a featured ingredient, after all! If all you have is pre-pressed garlic, that will work just fine. You can also use garlic powder in a pinch, but fresh garlic is best!

Make sure to see the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the full quantities and ingredients list.

Recipe Variations

If you love this recipe as much as we do and want some quick ways to change it up for variety, these little tips will do the trick!

  • Honey Garlic Wing Sauce – Add a touch of sweetness to your wing sauce with a squeeze of honey.
  • Spicy Garlic Wing Sauce – Like your wings with some extra heat? Drizzle in some hot sauce, add a generous sprinkle of red pepper flakes, or spice it up with some freshly ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, or even paprika.
  • Creamy Garlic Wing Sauce – Love a creamy sauce to go with your chicken wings? Try mixing all of these ingredients into a mayo base.

Recipe Step by Step

I am going to highlight a few key steps in the recipe here, but make sure to jump down to the recipe card for comprehensive instructions on how to make garlic parmesan sauce for wings.

4. Bake the wings at 425ºF for4 10-15 minutes or until nice and crispy. Once they’re finished, remove them from the oven and brush with additional sauce if desired.

Recipe Tips

  1. Pre-bake the wings – This recipe is designed for chicken that has already been cooked. If you’re starting with raw chicken, make sure it’s cooked through before adding the sauce. It should be at an internal temperature of 165ºF.
  2. Add extra sauce after baking – This ensures that you’re getting all of that delicious flavor in every single bite.
  3. Use as a dipping sauce – Don’t want to coat your wings? This sauce is great on the side as a dipping sauce too!
  4. Don’t want to bake again? – You can skip the baking step and simply toss fully cooked wings with the sauce!

What to Serve with Chicken Wings with Garlic Parm Wing Sauce

This wing sauce can compliment wings of course, but also can go well with a variety of other foods. Here are some great ideas for how to use garlic parmesan wing sauce.

  • Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes – Stir into creamy mashed potatoes to add savory flavor.
  • Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli – Coat your fresh broccoli florets with this sauce, then roast to perfection using my garlic parmesan roasted broccoli recipe.

Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce Leftovers

If you have leftovers after making this recipe, then it is your lucky day! They save and reheat well, and can make the start of another delicious dish.

To save leftovers, separate into meal sized portions and then place in an airtight container and store:

Recipe FAQ’s

What is garlic parmesan wing sauce made of?

Garlic parmesan wing sauce is made with just a few basic ingredients – two already in the name! It’s a melted buttery base mixed with fresh parsley and, of course, garlic and parmesan.

Why add butter to wing sauce?

The butter adds flavor, helps coat the wings with the other ingredients, AND makes the chicken nice and crispy!

Can you sauce wings before baking?

In some recipes, yes. This recipe, however, is written for wings that have been pre-cooked. You’ll coat those with the sauce, then bake for an additional 10-15 minutes to get them nice and crispy!

To use this sauce with fully cooked wings, or as a dipping sauce:
