Recipe Step by Step
I am going to highlight a few key steps in the recipe here, but make sure to jump down to the recipe card for comprehensive instructions on how to make pepperoni pizza roll ups.
- Spread the pizza dough into a thin rectangle about 12 inches long and 8-9 inches wide. Spread a thin layer of olive oil all over the dough, then sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
2. Top the seasoned dough with a layer of mozzarella cheese. Next, layer the dough evenly with pepperoni slices.
3. Starting at one end of the rectangle, roll the dough up into a log, pressing the edges together to seal it. Use a knife to cut the pizza dough log into rolls,
4. Lay each roll onto a baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375ºF until the tops are golden and the centers are cooked through. Serve warm with sauce for dipping!
Recipe Tips
- Roll the dough out thinly – You want the rectangle of dough to be about 12 inches long and 8-9 inches wide, rolled in a thin enough layer that it’s easy to roll up into a log.
- Place the rolls 2 inches apart – The rolls will expand as they bake, so be sure to give them space!
Recipe Short Cuts
If you need to make this recipe, but are extra short on time, here are a few ideas that can help make this recipe even faster!

Recipe FAQ’s
What is pizza roll dough made of?
Classic pizza dough consists of flour, water, salt, yeast, and olive oil. Since it really is so simple, making your own dough won’t add that much overall prep to this recipe. However, you can keep it extra easy with a pre-made dough or crescent roll dough.
How long do you bake pizza rolls for?
I recommend anywhere from 18-22 minutes of baking time, mainly because different ovens cook differently. For the best results, check your pizza rolls closer to the 18 minute mark, then take them out as soon as the tops and edges are golden brown and the centers are cooked through.
