Recipe Step by Step
I am going to highlight a few key steps in the recipe here, but make sure to jump down to the recipe card for comprehensive instructions on how to make million dollar ravioli.

Preheat the oven to 375˚F. In a large skillet, over medium high heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage breaking up as you stir. Drain any excess fat or liquid.

Stir in the marinara sauce.

In a medium bowl, make the cheese mixture by combining ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and Italian seasoning and mixing until smooth.

Layer sauce, ravioli, cheese mixture, and shredded cheese. Repeat layers, then bake at 375˚F until hot, bubbly, and golden!
Recipe Tips
- Don’t thaw the ravioli – There’s no need to thaw the ravioli before assembling the casserole, just layer it straight from frozen. As it bakes, the ravioli cooks perfectly in the sauce!
- Drain the meat well – After browning the ground beef and sausage, be sure to drain off any excess grease or liquid. This step keeps your casserole from becoming oily.
- Bake until bubbly – I recommend baking the million dollar ravioli lasagna covered for the first 45 minutes, and then uncovered for the last 20 minutes so the cheese can get golden brown and bubbly!
- Let it rest before serving – Once the casserole comes out of the oven, let it sit for about 10 minutes before slicing. This allows everything to set up so it holds together better when serving!
Recipe Short Cuts
If you need to make this recipe, but are extra short on time, here are a few ideas that can help make this recipe even faster!
- Use pre-cooked ground meat – You can make the ground meat ahead of time so save time later!
- Use store-bought shredded cheese – No shame here, this saves a few minutes of prep!
- Skip layering perfectly – It’ll still taste amazing even if it’s rustic!
- Use one type of meat – Just ground beef or just sausage works fine!

Million Dollar Ravioli
Ingredients
- 16 ounces frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 pound lean ground beef, I use 93% lean
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 32 ounces marinara sauce
- 8 ounces ricotta cheese
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375˚F.
- In a large skillet, over medium high heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage breaking up as you stir. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until meat is cooked through. Drain any excess fat or liquid.Stir in the marinara sauce.
- In a medium bowl, make the cheese mixture by combining ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and Italian seasoning and mixing until smooth.
- Spread a few spoonfuls of sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer half the ravioli in the dish and flatten as much as possible. Pour half the remaining sauce on top of the ravioli. Then spread half of the cheese mixture over the sauce. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese to finish the first layer.Repeat this with the remaining half of the ingredients: ravioli, sauces, cheese mixture, and shredded cheese to finish.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the casserole is hot throughout, the cheese is melted and the edges are bubbly. Note: If you like your cheese meltier, you can cook covered for 45 minutes then uncovered for an additional 20 or so. This does help the cheese stay more gooey, but it takes longer to cook.
