Instructions
Lay the bacon in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Place the bacon in a cold oven. Set the oven to 400˚F. Bake for 18-30 minutes, or until the bacon reaches desired level of crispiness.
Remove from oven and use tongs to transfer the bacon to a paper towel lined plate to cool.
Notes
Our special method adds the bacon to a cold oven. This helps to get the bacon perfectly crispy as it gets more intense heat as the oven heats up and then even heat as it finishes crisping.
The time the bacon will need to cook can vary quite a bit depending on how thick the bacon is sliced and your preferred level of crispiness.
I find that between 18-30 minutes is the range for almost all types of bacon. Thin bacon will be on the shorter side and thicker bacon will take longer.
Some prefer to cook bacon on top of a wire rack on a baking sheet. I find the bacon gets crispier by frying in its own fat as it cooks, so my preferred method is to cook it straight on the pan.
For easier clean up, you can line the baking sheet with a few sheets of foil and once the pan is cool, just wad it up and toss it out.
